What amazing detail. What fantastic print. What an excellent concept. I cannot give enough kudos to the design of this short-length dress. The balance of sihloutte between powerfully masculine and softly feminine. The furtistic edge of course always gets brownie points from me (by now, all of you should know what a sucker I am for futurism). And within this vast realm of forward thinking design, the nebula print used is really something unique.
The best part is that this piece was created by a student designer. Ana Belen Merono is a BA (honors) Fashion Design graduate from Nottingham Trent University. There is such a wealth of design talent in fashion schools around the world, and Ana certainly is no exception.
This piece came from her final collection entitled: “May the Dreams of Your Past Become The Reality of Your Future” – a highly optimistic title, which is refreshing perspective since so many futuristic collections are inspired by more dystopian roots. This is also ironic since Ana was partly inspired by Blade Runner.
